What to do with crappy wine? Sangria!

First and foremost, don’t cook with it. Like the experts say, never use anything that you wouldn’t drink alone in your dinner. (Which of course I had to learn the hard way.) As a pretty new venturer into the world of wines, I’ve had my doozies in purchasing wine that is less than tasty…What to do with crappy wine? Make Sangria! This is what I’d like to call my “Cheater-Cheater-Old-Grape-Eater” Sangria. So, no need to throw that Two Buck Chuck away. No need for an extra trip to the store, either. You can pretty much use any regular combination juice or combine juices in your fridge and pantry. (I always, always have Dole’s 100% Juice in Orange Banana Pineapple on hand.) With a few slice of everyday apples and oranges – You’re ready for a party!

What you need?

Ice cubes

Pitcher

1 Bottle of Nasty Wine (White or Red, it shouldn’t matter)

Your juice of choice  (I often use Dole’s 100% Juice Orange Banana Pineapple)

1 Sliced Apple

1 Sliced Orange

1/2 cup of Sugar

Directions:

Fill the pitcher half way up with ice.

Pour in 1/2 cup of sugar

Throw in sliced fruit

Pour bottle of wine

Pour in juice

Mix with the biggest spoon you can find

Keep in the fridge until ready to serve

Tada!!! You’re all done. I swear, this is the easiest Sangria recipe EVER!  I’ve even served it to a crowd during  the HBO PPV “Mayweather vs. Mosley” fight and received rave reviews.

Now pour a glass, have the kids in bed, put in your “Under The Tuscan Sun” DVD,  and call over the hubby for some much necessary and thoroughly satisfying chill-time.
