It’s been a few years, and I still don’t know who the hell you are, but somehow you’ve ingrained the memory of you in my brain forever. 

If we ever meet again, please say something. Even just a grunt would suffice.

Dear dreams,

Half the time I have no clue what you are trying to say and usually, I end up spending half the morning-after surfing the internet trying to decode you… And why do you keep bringing that random sports guy into it? That’s really strange.

Pleasant dreams would be nice. Like one’s that don’t freak me out…or like dreams that I don’t want to wake up from. I’ve heard of those but still have yet to experience them.

I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in awhile. It’s long overdue that you and my brain make amends and provide my soul some serious regenerative shut eye.

Dear BFF,

I think it’s been 5 years since we actually saw eachother face to face. Funny, though, because when I catch you for a quick chat on facebook, I feel like your quick trip down hear last November of 2004 was just a few months ago. But it wasn’t, it was  a husband,  a kid, and an entire continent away. What’s even more out-of-this world is despite how much things have changed, my love for you hasn’t changed a bit. Ok, I’m lying, maybe it’s changed just a little. But it’s a change in the right direction… I’m so proud of you, who you have become, and what you’ve done with your life. You’re such an inspiration to me. To see how you have defied so many odds and became the positive and gorgeous woman that you are today…It’s even more unnerving to know that you are more flexible now than you were when you were 16!!! ;o)

When we were in highschool, we would always wonder what we were going to be when we were adults. Though,an almost entire decade and a half  ago (Can you believe that crap?)  our guesses were ENTIRELY innacurate, I’m suprised we didn’t get the hint of who we really were going to be any sooner.  It’s funny. All the signs were there… Yet, isn’t it pretty sweet? After all the awkward stages, we’ve far surpassed our own personal expectations, and landed in communities that support our artistic, creative (and neurotic) selves.

We’re still growing and getting older. We’re barely a quarter-way through this lifetime… And though the next 15 years is as uncertain as the last, one thing I know is for sure. It could be 15, 20, 50 years from now,  we could be near or far and continents away, but you will always be a part of my life and even if we get wrinkly, and shriveled, (and perhaps not-so flexible)  the best times we had together will always be treasured and forever  feel like it was just yesterday.
