Beauty in the Ordinary
I have a thing for ordinary and ugly things. I like to wear the most ordinarily ugliest pieces in my closet with complete fearlessness when I’m out and about at fancy shopping centers… My husband thinks I’m crazy. What else is new?
Don’t lose the ability to see the beauty in ordinary things…and never lose the ability to make your husband think you’re nuts. It prolongs the mystery in even the most predictable relationships.
Tumblr-ing Into the Night
I am currently going through Valentine’s Day overload. Like, woah! I need to get to bed because I have a whole day of volunteering at my son’s school tomorrow but I can’t sleep. Right now, I don’t feel like talking/writing/looking at or about makeup yet I don’t want to get off the computer either. I also don’t want to just browse away because I’m going to end up online shopping my last check away. So here are a few absolutely adorable pictures that I found on tumblr lately. Sans anything makeup at all. My tumblr is http://thebeautybohemian.tumblr.com – Follow me if you wish…
There’s more where that came from… xo
Five reasons why I love my humongous keychain

1. It carries pieces and parts of my life, including a Hollywood keychain from the last time I went to Disneyland 7 years ago and an “I <3 NY” keychain from my trip to New York last April.
2. Pictures of my family adorn it, so everytime I turn a key, a smile plasters my face with nice thoughts of them.
3. All my shopping discount cards (Borders, Sally beauty supply, bev mo, etc.) So I don’t have to say my e-mail, name, or phone number out loud for stalkers to hear.
4. It has a Calfornia Raisin. (From my husband’s graduation from Serra Highschool – found it in the junk drawer at the in-laws, claimed it, and now it’s mine!)
5. It’s really easy to find in my purse. Like, really easy. And I can literally feel the weight missing if it’s not there. Good tactics for a scatter-brain like myself.
I think everyone should load up their own keychains like so. Random weekly happy thoughts and never ever losing your keys again? Win!
11:17 pm – Slipping away into a world of Tumblr
“ You know how when you were a kid and you believed in fairy tales? That fantasy of what your life would be. White dress, Prince Charming, Who’d carry you away to a castle on a hill. You’d lie in bed at night and close your eyes, and you had complete and utter faith.Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close, you could taste them. But eventually, you grow up. One day you open your eyes, and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust.”
But the thing is, it’s hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely. Cause almost everyone still has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they’ll open their eyes and it will all come true.
