Mommy Post: Febreze Flameless Luminary Lanterns
Last night, I went to the Shecky’s Girls Night Out at the Fort Mason, Herbst Pavilion in San Francisco. Since I was racing time to get home early, I bypassed most of the shops when I first got there and made sure to grab some free champagne and a goody bag before I most likely run out in a rush forgetting. (I did check them out later, that will be in my next post. Stay tuned! ) The line to the goody bag wasn’t long and there were different kinds. When it came to my turn the young gentleman goody-bag handler looked at me with an “I know what you want” grin and gave me my bag – which, btw, looked fuller and more packed than most of the others since it had a square box stopping it from closing at its tippy-top. Charmer, he was. I came home to find that Mr.goodybaghandler was entirely correct. The special treat that came with my swag (which was what was peaking out of the box) was the Febreze Flameless Luminary Starter Kit. Which I am now completely, utterly, and officially obsessed with. The scent comes from these replaceable, cool paper lanterns (FYI: I have a thing for paper lanterns) and is heated with a flameless platform that stays on, flickers like a candle, and automatically shuts off in four hours. Obsessed, I tell you!
Unlike regular candles- which I love but can be a pain – I don’t have to worry about it burning the house down (which I have an irrational OCD habit of checking before I sleep and as I leave the house) or be concerned about any random crazy combustions as my six year old son runs around the place swinging bats or catapulting Monster Trucks from his homemade launching contraptions. Needless to say, I am pretty obsessed with the Febreze Home Collections now, especially the Luminary Lanterns. I am going to get one for every room in the house. They come in about 10 different scents, always changing with the current season. Check them out by clicking here. My place currently smells like the limited edition Honeysuckle Orchid. A subtle and sweet change from the everyday smell of the boys’ dirty baseball caps which magically clutter every table and counter surface of the house.
Refills are under $5 and the starter kit is around $10. Sold anywhere they have Febreze products, like Walmart, Target, and Amazon.com.
Coming Clean: The Fate of The Beauty Bohemian
Okay. I’m going to fess up. I have been semi-consciously turning The Beauty Bohemian into a completely self-indulgent, all about everything and anything posting center. I’ll admit, the articles are getting more personal, as the beauty reviews are becoming way more sparse. When I started BB, reviews were my initial goal. The goal of BB was to be where I put all my product reviews and swatches and..well, that takes a lot of tedious work. More (way more) effort than I had initially expected. I don’t want my “for fun” outlet/website to feel like work. If it feels that way I end up not doing it by finding a million ways to procrastinate and even forget.
I don’t want that to happen. Hence, why I need to find a way to make BB fun again for me. I still want it to be something fun and uplifting and also a place where I can share my thoughts and daily musings. Despite my honest to goodness guilt due to turning this website into a non-stop babble about my life, events, and what not; I whole-heartedly promise to do my sharing in a way that is not completely obnoxious and shallow. (Hate when people do that.) After all, there are enough self-centered people walking around us on a daily basis, and vice versa, there are plenty of resources online that can give you good overall reviews and product announcements. FYI: I do that for a living with a few of my other jobs which I post links to every so often on my twitter.
To motivate and begin my overhaul to unabashed life-sharing and blog rebooting, I have come up with the “Come Clean” series. A day of the week/month/year where I will come clean about one thing that has been bothering and bugging my brain. This week, you guessed it, was this blog and it’s fate.
Because as a blogger/wife/mom/human/person with stupid uncontrollable emotions, I often feel the hankering need to explain things a lot even if no one really gives a hoot.
I also need to find a really clever new way to end my blog posts.
Any suggestions?

Mommy Post, Spring Allergies, and Latest Obsessions
Sorry. This isn’t a fashion, beauty, or anything-fascinating-really post. I am once again MIA on the blog-writing-sphere. Been quite busy with starting a new writing job, getting disgustingly sick with a gnarly cold, becoming fitness obsessed, baseball season, and dealing with spring’s insane allergies. I’ve also been obsessed – very obsessed – with Yogurt Circle. That yogurt place that you put whatever you want and you pay for the weight of the product.
My son and I always head to it before his t-ball games. He loads up his cup with candy and I choose nuts. I also steal like 5 sample cups and sample each one before picking.
Anwyays, Happy Friday and I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Blog posts are on the way soon. I just gotta get back to being on a normal routine.
P.S. See John in his Brave New World shirt by Out of Print. I love it.

Tumblr-ing Into the Night
I am currently going through Valentine’s Day overload. Like, woah! I need to get to bed because I have a whole day of volunteering at my son’s school tomorrow but I can’t sleep. Right now, I don’t feel like talking/writing/looking at or about makeup yet I don’t want to get off the computer either. I also don’t want to just browse away because I’m going to end up online shopping my last check away. So here are a few absolutely adorable pictures that I found on tumblr lately. Sans anything makeup at all. My tumblr is http://thebeautybohemian.tumblr.com – Follow me if you wish…
There’s more where that came from… xo
Random Post: STARZ Spartacus Gods of the Arena
Lots of sex, blood, and boobs. I can do with a little less blood. Moments of the show seem so annoyingly unrealistic that they feel like they came straight out of clips from a comic book but that’s perhaps to satisfy the gore-thirsty comic lovers that surrounded them like bees to honey at the last Comic Convention. I do like looking at this though:
I just read another blog that stated that they thought that the actor, Dustin Clare, didn’t bring enough wow-factor to the plate like it’s original Spartacus star. Funny, because that’s how I felt about that other Spartacus actor in the beginning, too. These TV actors have a way of growing on you, I suppose. (Unfortunately, the reason why they did a prequel is because Andy Whitfield, the original star of the show, was diagnosed with cancer and had to resign from his role. They are currently casting for a new Spartacus. Best of luck to him and I hope that he regains his health… I’m going to find it very hard to envision anyone else as STARZ’s Spartacus. )
A few gripes: This was also an issue I had with the last Spartacus series – As much as I loved it and am loving the current series so far, Please! For the love of Zeus! Starz crew, Give a little more attention to detail! Women in the olden days of Capua didn’t wear Forever 21 earrings, rock blunt bangs, hair extensions, or sport butterfly tattoos. Cover it up and brainstorm a little more authenticity for your costumes on characters. I’m sure a big TV show like Spartacus has enough budget to Ebay some tattoo cover up, anywho.
Otherwise, it’s pretty fantastic. You have officially hook, lined, and sinkered me into making this my new guilty-pleasure on TV.
Recuperating…or something like that and my Top Three Favorite Hot Pink Lipsticks!
Love pink lips? I do. Today, I am rocking Pink Me Up by Maybelline ColorSensation. Yes, I’m avoiding the topic as to why I haven’t really wrote anything lately…haha. Been fighting a serious bout of writer’s block and procrastination. Soon enough.
In the word’s of the Governator and utterly cheesy movie qoutes: I’ll be back, baby.
Sorting a few things out since my life is in a bit of a bundle. But… fun stuff again shall be posted and our endless conversation will still continue…and what about this Kim Kardashian, ay? Isn’t she hot yet extremely annoying? I also just read on a plastic-surgery forum that she has a butt-job. Complete with 2006 before and after pictures. There was this (obviously) male poster defending her big ol’ asset like a hardcore verbal soldier. Ha! Too funny.
