Material Girl Collection: The Beauty Bohemian Picks (Clothing)
As you know Lourdes and Madonna have created Material Girl, which is headlined by Gossip Girl starlet, Taylor Momsen. I recently attended the launch at downtown Macy’s last Tuesday and pretty much went gaga over some of their stuff – which is sold exclusively online and at Macy’s on O’Farrel.
Here are my three favorite pieces of the (everything) under $40 line:
This Military Jacket is a great, versatile, way to add substance to the humdrum of daily dressing.
Since San Francisco Fashion Week, I’ve been coveting an A-line tulle skirt. Thank you, Madonna, for hearing my cosmic voice and turning my fashion wishes into a reality.
Lasty, this studded faux-leather, cropped motorcyle jacket. Due to SF’s ridiculous summer weather of freezing insanity - and to avoid dumpy, frumpy, puffy jackets - this is the perfect coat that is not only faux-leather (sometimes the idea of a real cowhide gives me the willies) but it’s also in a really great cut.
That’s it for now. I’ll be doing accessories soon. (And oh my! does Material Girl have an outstanding arsenal.)
Cheers, boho babes.

Oh yes! And due to a conflict of schedule and mommy-demands, I toted my awesome 5 year-old son to the 3pm event. Here is a pic of us at the Photobooth. Enjoy!
San Francisco Fashion Week 2010: The Reinvention, Best of Part Two
The end of SFFAMA’s “San Francisco Fashion Week: The Reinvention” took place the last Saturday of July. Although located in the same venue as Part One,(the Vitaminwater Social Club) the atmosphere was that of a truly unorthodox aesthetic. Day Two/Part Two: of SFFAMA’s San Francisco Fashion Week was exclusively Avante Garde. Creative designers seduced fashion-philes with custom apparel creations that could only manifest from the minds of the truly archetypal.
The show opened with a hairless and cladwhite performer that seemed like it came straight out of 2000′s mind-boggling blockbuster movie, The Cell. An exceedingly surefire way to command the crowds attention and end the two-day fashion festiviy with a radical and fashionable “bang!” Unique clothing, ostentatios accessories, and cutting-edge garments lead the way for a memorable night in the heart of San Francisco.
Clad with intriguing eye-patches and beguiling silhouettes was Alexandria von Bromssen. A line with a provocative feel and a bewitching selection.
Alyssa Nicole showcased her enchanting pieces of whimsy and romance. Showcasing a few must-have pieces of tulle skirted dresses and an altogether feminine captivation.
Chan.nel Karama LTD was a line of full-frontal beauty and boldness. Embodying a hardcore magnetic force of rebellion and allure.
Valpixel was an enticing collection of graphic art and spellbinding originality. The pieces used riveting soft prints and fabrics in a refreshingly strong infrastucture of seams.
It was surely an amazing night and we will be impatiently waiting to attend the next Reinvention of San Francisco’s (much awaited and much needed!!) Fashion Week.

San Francisco Fashion Week 2010 with SFFAMA: Part One
If anyone knows how to throw a two-day fashion event, in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it’s the folks of SFFAMA. (The San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance) “The Reinvention” brought together the eager, color-lusting, silhouette-coveting fashion scene of San Francisco, by delivering a high power, high-energy , much-anticipated fashion show in an all-new, original, and innovative way.
Conveniently tucked in between the historical North Beach buildings, blocks away from the magnificent Pacific Ocean scenery, was the surreal yet chic Vitaminwater Social Club, where our festivities of fun and fashion took place. The free unlimited Vitaminwater, open bar, delicious cheese platters by Cheat A Little Catering (The goat cheese was divine!) and splendidly packaged goodie bags where just some of the many cherries on top of our “clothing-confectioned” cupcake this Friday and Saturday last.
Day One/Part One was exclusively Ready To Wear: SFFAMA collaborated wearable pieces created and designed by emerging local designers like Rock Chiq and Vintage Joy, as well as familiar fashion names like, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent and Generra. The accessories of leathered belts, and multitude of fabric combinations, were enough for me to think that my next shopping-venture will be having tulle layers first on my list of must-haves.

Rock Chiq The entire line was colorful and feminine, full of spunk, and with a dash of adult elegance.

Black Halo Seductive and sleek. Perfect additions to complete your collection of head-turning ensembles.

Work Clothes The funnest collection of all. Epitomized the carefree-casualness of a California girl’s atmosphere.
Here are more, at random. Will add the content of the designers as soon as I find the information:
They were all gorgeous but she ^^ was my favorite!!
